Fantastique Antiques!!

I was finally able to visit one of my all time FAVE stores in Denver recently, and simply HAD to share with you all some eye candy pics of my exploits.

It’s called Eron Johnson Antiques and walking through here is like taking a trip around the world, going back in time and being able to bring home a memento of your trip ALL at the same time. It’s on the higher side ($$) and up until now I haven’t actually bought anything (you know me, I’m more of a flea budget type of spender), but I do like to stop in every once in awhile and just drool and appreciate an era/s long past.

You know this place is going to be amazing when there are marble statutes, fire place mantels and fountains sitting out front.

This time however, I was on a mission.  I’m working on my ORC fall design and have a couple of special pieces in mind that I was looking for and of course I had to at least stop in here and look around.  (cause let’s be real!  Any excuse to walk around in here, I’ll take!)

But to make it even better?!  They were having a major clearance/sale event and some things were actually within the $$ striking distance, say whaaa?!!!

You guys!!! I wanted that bench right der in the middle, SO badly.  (I’m silently weeping over leaving it.)

Also, I like to think that I am instilling an appreciation for the don’t make em like that anymore, look at the design and incredible handcraft artistry, it’s from a previous century, well loved EVERYTHING! Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with new pieces, but there’s just something extra special about vintage and antiques.

Don’t mind the boxes, they were moving things out/around when we were there.  But can I just point out those 2 STUNNING chandeliers?!  They came from an old bank in Denver.  Jaw on the floor, drool trickling out and all the big googly heart eyes.

This place has absolutely everything you could want and some things you didn’t even know you wanted.  Doors, corbels, chairs, sofas, art, staircases, chandeliers, cupboards, credenzas, windows, consoles, dining tables, lamps, even a copper seat that rides on top of elephants/camels from the 1800’s.  Seriously EVERYTHING.

They’ve got columns and door frames and mantels, They’ve got end tables, chandeliers too. (little mermaid anybody?) You want elephant seats?  They’ve got plenty.  Who cares? No big deal?  I want moooooore!!!!!!

This is the basement level, and my personal fave.  The best thing EVER is to dig through and find some hidden treasures.  I think I might be half pirate.

Anyway, look em up if you are ever in the Denver area!  Definitely worth a look see, unless you find that one makes your heart pitter patter, can’t leave without it, lives in your dreams at night piece.  Then it’s worth more than just a look!

And a lil spoiler alert……I found 2 AMAZING pieces for the ORC space!!  I am so in lurve, one is french and one is english and they are both at least 100+ years old.  I guess that’s not a spoiler though, cause I’m not sharing pics of them just yet!  Hahahaha, cue evil laugh.

What’s your favorite antique or vintage item you have seen or bought?!  Where is your fave local spot to search for those oh so special items?

And don’t forget to hit me up with questions, comments or just to say “hey, what’s up?!”  Or subscribe to this lil blog-spot for more fun, adventure, tips and just whatever craziness I’m up to today!

  1. Oh my gosh…this store! It makes want to take out a bank loan and go crazy. Can’t wait to see what pieces you snagged. It reminds me of a MUCH larger version of a store by me called Fiddlestix, where all I could afford was a vintage belt buckle. Those places are magical though. My favorite piece of furniture, a mid-century sideboard, came from Regeneration Station in Asheville – I’d visit more but it’s impossible to get me out of there.

    1. YES! That’s so this place, spendy but if you can afford it WORTH it. I only lucked out with 2 pieces as one was marked 70% off and the other was over 50% off. Otherwise I would have left empty handed just like every other stalker-ish visit. I swear they were starting to look at me sideways. Hahaha! I always have my family with me when we go down for other stuff and I make them stop here for me. My oldest now jaunts through the aisles with my almost 5 year old on his back acting like a horse. Yeah, it’s embarrassing! But it shows you how comfortable they are there now (or bored, one of the 2) LOL
