The last couple of days were spent touching up those last minute things we didn’t think about earlier. We had the patio redone and coated with a custom color (that was on the calendar before), paint touch ups on the wall I missed the zillion times I went around before, cleaning and more cleaning, donating and staining.
Yes, staining! We were so focused on the inside details and the back I totally spaced on the front. Our front door and surround is wood and could use a refresh so we refinished it…..yesterday! The day before listing, nothing like down to the wire amiright?! And not only that but the front porch was looking a bit sad. I had some things up there but didn’t really decorate it as I just threw some stuff on there we already owned and called it a day.
Front door staining in process!
I realized yesterday that I needed to freshen it up and do something to pull it all together. It is the first impression after all. So I made a mad dash to a few of my fave stores yesterday looking for some fresh pillows and a rug. World Market ended up being the jackpot! (my fave place to shop for outdoor stuff!!) I found this super cute pink/grey mat and I already knew how awesome these were as I have several on the back patio, they wear amazingly well, dirt just washes off and they are super comfy to walk on.
All spruced up!
I fell in love with the colors and pattern and it was an instant sold at $20 and 20% off (with my coupon). I then walked the store and found a few blush pillows and 2 black to give a little drama but not overwhelm to spruce up the bench and 2 chairs I have out there. Done and done!
All it needs now are some plants but we are still getting some below freezing temps so we are waiting on the plants a bit longer, which super sucks because when I have some out here it really adds so much to the entry. Aww well you can’t have everything right?
We were able to put the back patio back together after it’s facelift and I kept things mostly the same with the addition of 2 new pillows everything was already out here before. Just cleaned up and ready to rock! (see how we painted this ikea applaro sectional last spring here!) (And how it looked last summer here!)
A different angle
And the far side of the patio! Desperately wanting to put some flowers on the patio but same as the front waiting on the weather to cooperate.
And just in the nick of time, we are officially listed for sale today. (cue OMG face) It sounds silly as we’ve been planning for this and working towards it for the last 2 months but seeing that sign out front felt a bit like a kick in the gut. I’m ready but not, you know?! I’m excited and terrified. Praying for a smooth experience, a great buyer and a fab new house. That’s a tall order but I think it’s do-able, at least that’s what I keep repeating to myself. (To read all about why we’re selling check it out here!)
So if you could muster up a few good vibes to send our way I would so appreciate it! I am a nervous wreck at the moment haha. Here’s to a quick sale for a good price!
Any tips for surviving the selling process? We’ve done this before but it was a different situation so it feels new! I always love to hear from you!
And the subscribe bar on the right is a great way to keep up with what’s happening around here now that the fun is about to begin!
